The Boston Minutemen withstood a fine game by Houston center fielder Hank Andrew at Minuteman Stadium, to upend the Comets, 8-5. Andrew went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs. Johnny Hall, the winning pitcher, improved to 8-8. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Walt Portelli earned save number 4 this season.

Jim Morton hit a 2-run double off Jay Hunt in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Minutemen in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Morton had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

"Winning never gets dull," said Morton.

The defeat makes Houston 62-54.
