Chiefs Fall, 13-4, to Lewis, Eagles | A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Washington Eagles and Chicago Chiefs.
The Washington Eagles soundly defeated the Chicago Chiefs, 13-4, at Whitney Park, with center fielder Chief Lewis a major reason why. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3 for Washington. The third-place Eagles have a record of 80-63.
With Washington leading 3-1 in the top of the sixth, Lewis batted against Chicago pitcher Frank Williams. Lewis hit a slider to right for a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Eagles on top, 6-1.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Lewis. | |
