| Cougars Drop Saints, 1-0 | The Cougars faced a stiff challenge from Montreal pitcher Eddie Martin, but persevered to claim a win at Cougars Park. The final score was 1-0. Martin went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Andy Logue picked up the win, lifting his record to 14-10 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 1 in 6 innings, while yielding no runs. The Saints had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cougars going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the top prospect Gene Case came to the plate. Case hit a solo home run on a 0-2 splitter from Montreal hurler Eddie Martin. It was Case's 20th home run of the year.
