Mavericks Hand Cleveland 6-3 Loss
The Kansas City Mavericks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Cleveland second baseman Gus Randall by beating the Foresters, 6-3, at Prairie Park. Randall went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Reliever Harry Stout picked up the win. His record improves to 2-4. Roy Rice, who finished 3rd in the FA in wins with 16 in 1968, took the loss. Roy Miller nailed down his 1st save.

Kansas City took the lead, 5-3, on Earl Poston's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Cleveland pitcher Roy Rice in the bottom of the seventh.

"Winning is the only objective," said Poston after the game.

Kansas City is now 49-65.
