| Saints Get Better of Cougars, 4-1 | The Montreal Saints topped the Chicago Cougars, 4-1, in Continental Association action at Stade Montreal. The standout performance belonged to Montreal pitcher and Hanover, Pennsylvania, native Hal Bennett. Montreal reliever Ted Blixt snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Bob Goldman shouldered the loss. Miguel Hernandez earned his 18th save, after closing out the game.
Montreal grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Bill Rawdon delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1, in favor of the Saints.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Chicago skipper Pug Bryan, "and it cost us."
The 5th-place Cougars dropped to 50-67.
