| Chiefs Lose at Home, 7-4 | Washington and Chicago duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.
The Washington Eagles defeated the Chicago Chiefs, 7-4. Left Fielder Joe Cantrell deserved a large share of the credit. Cantrell went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Eagles. Washington, at 48-66, sits in 5th place in the Federal Association East.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Don Whited? The Washington center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Eagles on top, 3-1. For the game, Whited had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"See ball, hit ball. When I think too much, that's when I get in trouble," Cantrell told the Washington Today. | |
