Cleveland Foresters starter Sonny Stoyer pitched his team past the San Francisco Sailors, 5-2. Cleveland, at 47-24, is 5½ games up in the Continental Association.

Larry McClure hit a run-scoring double off Larry Knez in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Foresters in front, 3-2. In addition to the double, McClure had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," McClure told the Cleveland News.
