Watson Leads Cougars to Win
Chicago right fielder Henry Watson contributed significantly to his team's 14-7 win over the Cleveland Foresters. Watson, who is tied for 6th in the CA in total bases with 146, went 3 for 5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cougars. Bob Allen, the winner, is now 5-3. He struck out 5 and walked 5 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Pug White locked down his 10th save.

With Chicago leading 10-7 in the bottom of the eighth, Watson hit a fastball from Earle Turner for a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the Cougars ahead, 13-7.

"Just trying to help my team," said Watson. "That's all I want."

The second-place Cougars have a record of 40-28.
