New York picked up a win at Columbia Stadium, bumping off the Washington Eagles, 7-5. Pitcher Clarence Reimer was a major reason the Gothams emerged victorious. Les Freedman, now 2-0, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 1. The 5th-place Gothams now have a win-loss record of 64-76.

New York used the timely hitting of Hank Estill to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Gothams on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice win for us," said Reimer. "Now we'll go after the next one."
