| Saints Beaten By Cannons, 5-2 | The Montreal Saints got a sterling performance from pitcher Tommy Jackson, but the Cincinnati Cannons still prevailed, 5-2. Jackson threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Cincinnati is 50-65 and Montreal, with the loss, 52-61.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Tony Nino to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cannons on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Nino said after the game.
