| Imperials Handle Arrows, 5-4 | The Imperials grabbed a win, 5-4, at Dyckman Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Red Burtch. Burtch went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Jim White picked up the win, improving his season record to 11-9. He struck out 10 in 7 innings. Ed Wells finished the game for New York and earned his 1st save.
The Imperials got a big hit from center fielder Freddy Curtis. In the bottom of the sixth, Curtis smacked a 2-run double off Milwaukee pitcher Johnny Britton. It was his 18th double of the season. Suddenly, the Imperials were ahead, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Curtis.
With the win, New York pushed its record to 57-54.
