| Chiefs Spill Dynamos, 5-1 | The Chicago Chiefs went home winners at Thompson Field, thanks in large part to starter Nate Carr. Carr stifled the Detroit Dynamos, enabling Chicago to grab the 5-1 win. Chicago has now won 3 in a row.
Bob Starr had a big 2-run home run for the Chiefs in the top of the fourth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a changeup from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Jack Williams and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Chiefs on top, 4-0.
Said losing manager Roger Cleaves: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better." | |
