| Saints Edged by Cannons, 6-4 | With catcher Pete Bruce leading the charge, the Cincinnati Cannons defeated the Montreal Saints, 6-4, at Stade Montreal. Bruce, who is tied for 5th in the CA with a .387 on-base percentage, was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jack Meeks earned the save for Cincinnati, his 1st. The Cannons, at 57-54, sit in second place in the Continental Association East.
The result might have been different, had it not been for two-time All-Star Mike Rocque. Rocque had a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cannons ahead, 5-4. For the game, Rocque had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Good win for us," said Rocque. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
