Late Rally by Kings Secures 5-4 Win | Toronto left fielder Tom Reed had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Reed was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, even as Kansas City beat the Wolves, 5-4. The win was credited to 23-year old left-handed pitcher Del Lamb in relief. His record improves to 4-3. Zeke Blake took the loss. The victory gives the Kings a record of 37-29.
Charlie Rogers was the walk-off hero for Kansas City. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kings center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"What a buzz," said Rogers after it was over. | |
