Los Angeles Gets 8-4 Win Against Cougars | Chicago got a terrific game from right fielder Henry Watson. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Los Angeles, 8-4. Watson went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Los Angeles reliever Earl Wright was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Andy Logue took the loss. The triumph puts Los Angeles at 38-29 for the season.
In the bottom of the sixth, Los Angeles left fielder Charlie Sax had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Sax stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 5-3, Los Angeles. For the game, he went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Sax. | |
