| Saints Bridle Imperials, 3-1 | The Montreal Saints got a magnificent effort from pitcher Bob Nelson, who kept New York hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Saints win at Dyckman Stadium. The winner was Nelson. He threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Milt Lane. The win has Montreal at 27-40.
Malcolm Strong came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Strong attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
