Cannons Deal Foresters 6-4 Defeat | Cannons catcher Art McKinney put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Cleveland Foresters. McKinney went 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 4 RBI for Cincinnati in the contest. Cincinnati reliever Hal Adams picked up the win to move to 6-1. Rufus Barrell II suffered the loss. Paul Williams was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 16 save opportunities.
Had McKinney not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, McKinney hit a 2-run single. The Cannons took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.
"It was a solid, all-around game for us," said Cincinnati manager Buddy Baumgart.
With the victory, the Cannons upped their record to 38-27. | |
