St. Louis pitcher Tige Bowe had a large part in his team beating the Minneapolis Millers, 2-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. St. Louis reliever Curly Anderson snagged the win, upping his record to 5-6. Ike Hawley shouldered the loss. St. Louis, at 56-56, holds down third place in the Federal Association West.

St. Louis took a 2-0 lead on Larry Cimino's 7th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Cimino hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minneapolis pitcher Ike Hawley visibly frustrated.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Bowe told the St. Louis Times.
