Wolves Shut Out Cannons, 11-0 | Toronto Wolves starter Phil Colantuono turned in a top-notch performance against the Cincinnati Cannons at Dominion Stadium. The result was a win for the Wolves, 11-0. Colantuono yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 5, and struck out 4. His record improves to 12-6. The Cannons, now 52-59, have lost 5 straight.
Clyde Fisher drove in one run for Toronto. The 24-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jim York. It was his 27th RBI of the season.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Colantuono. | |
