| Chiefs Defeated, 3-0, After Detroit Rallies | Right-hander Clarence Reimer mesmerized the Chicago Chiefs while leading the Detroit Dynamos to a 3-0 victory. The last-place Dynamos are now 39-72, the Chiefs 45-67.
Detroit took a 1-0 lead on Pete Dance's 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Dance hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Hal Alsip visibly frustrated.
"We gave it the old college try," said Chicago manager Ollie Howard. "But the old college try wasn't good enough." | |
