| St. Louis Gets 10-8 Win Against Millers | The St. Louis Pioneers beat the Minneapolis Millers, 10-8, at Pioneer Field III. The win was due in part to third baseman Del Jacobs, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Charlie Christianson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-2. Ben Baird, who finished 5th in the FA in saves with 21 last year, was tagged with the loss. Roy McDonald notched his 28th save in 33 chances.
John Richards had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Pioneers. Coming up with the bases loaded and St. Louis trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Richards.
Minneapolis's current losing streak is now 4 games.
