| Chiefs Upend Dynamos, 7-1 | Starting pitcher Johnny Maples was a major factor in the 7-1 Chicago Chiefs triumph over the Detroit Dynamos. The loss makes Detroit 58-52.
Chicago center fielder Bob Starr contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 102nd hit of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 3-0.
"All my pitches were working," said Maples. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
