Sailors Fall, 7-2, to Newman, Kings | Riding the 2-hit performance of the slugging third baseman Ken Newman, the Kansas City Kings defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 7-2. The Kings now have a mark of 67-66.
With Kansas City leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Newman hit a fastball from Eddie Whitney for a 3-run home run. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Kings ahead, 5-0.
