| Wranglers Zap Sailors, 6-4 | The San Francisco Sailors could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ralph Pierce into a win. Instead, the Dallas Wranglers prevailed, 6-4. Pierce threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Johnny Manning snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-2 on the season. Mike Peter suffered the loss. At 63-47, the Wranglers are currently third in the Continental Association West.
Dallas used the timely hitting of Enos LeClair to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wranglers on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said LeClair.
