Foresters Capture Close Win
Cleveland catcher Hal Kennedy was instrumental in helping the Foresters triumph, 7-6, over the New York Imperials. Kennedy went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Johnny Ogden came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-8. New York has now lost 4 straight.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Cleveland. That's when former first round draft pick Herb Reed hit a run-scoring double off Eddie Webb to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"We found a way to get it done," Reed said.
