Chicago Beats Los Angeles in Extra Innings | Lou Allen did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Los Angeles Stars from losing the game, 6-5, to the Chicago Cougars in 13 innings at Cougars Park. Allen went 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. With the win over Los Angeles, the Cougars improved to 62-72.
In the bottom of the 13th, Tom Halliday delivered the big blow for Chicago, stroking a game-winning run-scoring single off Los Angeles pitcher Jim Drake.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Halliday. | |
