| Comets 7-3 Winners Versus Minneapolis | The Houston Comets topped the Minneapolis Millers, 7-3, in Federal Association action at Dalton Domed Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Houston pitcher George Roy. Roy, now 5-15, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. Houston has won 3 straight, while Minneapolis has lost 3 in a row.
With Houston leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Roy hit a curveball from Bob Ciaramella for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Comets ahead, 5-0.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Roy.
