| Detroit Triumphs with Late Surge | Led by Dick Tucker, the Detroit Dynamos defeated the Pittsburgh Miners, 6-4. Tucker was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Dynamos. Bill Follis sewed up the save, his 3rd. The Dynamos raised their record to 59-72.
Had Tucker not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Tucker hit a 2-run single. The Dynamos took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
"We take it day by day here," said Tucker, "and today was a good one for us."
