Imperials Raise Rally Flag, Beat Cincinnati, 4-2
The Cincinnati Cannons got a superb performance from pitcher Charlie Warren, but the New York Imperials still won the game, 4-2. Warren threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run. Glenn Webb snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. The win puts New York at 3-2.

New York won the game in part because of Walt Denny. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Imperials ahead, 4-2. For the game, Denny had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"I thought we played a nice game," Denny told the New York Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
