Johnny Blackburn of the Houston Comets was in command from start to finish in his 2-0 shutout win over the Chicago Chiefs. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the FA in complete games with 6, struck out 7, walked 1 and allowed 1 hit.

"I felt strong the entire game," Blackburn said. "I felt like I had my good stuff. It was just one of those games when everything was working."
