Behind the bravura of pinch hitter Curt Day, the Seattle Kings topped the Kansas City Mavericks by the score of 6-5. Day went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Kings. Seattle reliever Ray Eddy picked up the win, raising his record to 4-1. Jack Turner was tagged with the loss. The first-place Kings, at 75-35, lead the Continental Association West by 14 games.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Seattle trailing 5-4, Day jumped on a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Jack Turner and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Kings had a walk-off win.

"The crowd was juiced," said Day.
