| Wolves Lose By a Run at Cleveland | The Cleveland Foresters got a magnificent performance from pitcher Rufus Barrell II, who muffled the Toronto offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Foresters win at Forester Stadium. In 7 innings, Barrell II surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Cleveland is now 40-16, 7 games up in the Continental Association.
Cleveland center fielder Earl Howe contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 55th hit of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 2-1.
"Every loss stings," said Toronto manager Randy Hohlt. "This one is no exception."
