| Keystones Handle Chicago, Snag 6-5 Win | The Philadelphia Keystones picked up a win at Whitney Park, knocking off the Chicago Chiefs, 6-5. Starting pitcher Jorge Arellano was a big reason why. Arellano, the winner, moves to 6-1. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Don McKeown got the save, his 24th in 37 chances.
Marshall Thomas's at-bat in the top of the seventh was significant, coming with a runner on 2nd and the game tied, 5-5. The Philadelphia second baseman hit a run-scoring single off Fred Moore to put the Keystones up.
"When Jorge executes, it really doesn't matter what the other lineup is," said Philadelphia field general Don Fox.
The win puts Philadelphia at 79-51 this season.
