Baltimore pitcher Pat Fortier had a large part in his team beating the Washington Eagles, 8-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. At 57-50, the Clippers find themselves in 4th place in the Federal Association East.

The Clippers got a big hit from pinch hitter Hank Butler. Facing Washington pitcher Don Maguire in the top of the eighth, Butler pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 4th home run of the season put the Clippers ahead, 7-0.

Fortier called the win "a team effort."
