| Tight Tilt Goes to Wolves, 2-1 | Toronto Wolves starter Phil Colantuono turned in a top-notch performance against the Kansas City Kings at Dominion Stadium. The result was a win for the Wolves, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Colantuono, now 12-9. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Picking up his 19th save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Whitey Stewart.
Jesse Taylor took Kansas City hurler Gordon McDonald deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Wolves on top, 2-0. In all, Taylor had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Taylor. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
The last-place Wolves have a record of 51-78.
