| Hubbard Helps Atlanta Cruise to 11-3 Win | The Atlanta Copperheads and Philadelphia Keystones completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Atlanta Copperheads defeated the Philadelphia Keystones, 11-3, at Peachtree Stadium. Atlanta second baseman Al Hubbard had a superb performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Copperheads, at 79-28, have a comfortable 28½-game lead in their division.
In the bottom of the sixth, Atlanta third baseman Jim Duchesne had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Duchesne stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 6-2, Atlanta. For the game, he was 1 for 3. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Atlanta manager Don Fox.
