| Stars Victors, 6-5, at Toronto | Los Angeles and Toronto duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.
The Los Angeles Stars defeated the Toronto Wolves, 6-5. Third Baseman Virgil Ewing deserved a large share of the credit. Ewing was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Stars. Hank Myer was credited with the save for Los Angeles, his 8th of the season.
With Los Angeles leading 2-1 in the top of the sixth, Ewing hit a 2-run single off Toronto hurler Jimmy Pepper. It was the 55th hit of the season for Ewing and put his team ahead, 4-1.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Toronto manager Randy Hohlt.
The Wolves, now 25-28, have lost 5 straight.
