Cincinnati Cannons starter Herm Quinn turned in a top-notch performance against the Toronto Wolves at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The result was a win for the Cannons, 5-2. Quinn yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 13-8. Charlie Wolf earned the save, his 5th.

Bill Brown had a big 2-run home run for the Cannons in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Cincinnati leading 3-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a forkball from Stan Terry, who finished 5th in the CA in innings pitched with 272.2 in 1972, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Cannons on top, 5-1.
