| Slumping Imperials Lose 11th Straight | The New York Imperials could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mike Dunlavy into a win. Instead, the Toronto Wolves prevailed, 6-3. Dunlavy threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Red Bullock earned the save for Toronto, his 1st of the year. The misery continues for the Imperials, who have now dropped 11 in a row.
Toronto used the clutch hitting of Sid Cullen to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wolves ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"We're our own worst enemy right now," said New York skipper Jim Abernathy.
