| Eagles Earn 2-1 Win Versus Chiefs | Washington turned a good effort from starter Foster Sherman into a win over the Chicago Chiefs at Columbia Stadium. The Eagles won the game, 2-1. Skinny Green, who finished 3rd in the CA in wins with 18 in 1955, nailed down the save. The losses continue to pile up for Chicago, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.
Jim Baccari was 2-4 with 2 singles against the Chiefs. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he grounded out, driving in 1 run that put Washington in front, 2-1.
"Losing puts me in a bad mood," said Chicago manager Dutch Becker. "And right now nobody wants to be around me."
