Philadelphia Upended by New York, 6-1
The New York Gothams picked up a win at Broad Street Park II, knocking off the Philadelphia Keystones, 6-1. Starting pitcher Curtis Robinson played a key role in the triumph. Robinson yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 4, and struck out 8. His record improves to 7-6. The second-place Gothams hiked their record to 57-48.

The Keystones had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Gothams going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Joe Jones came to the plate. Jones hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Philadelphia hurler Billy Hasson. It was Jones's 10th home run of the year.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said New York manager Charlie Foley.
