| Newton has 4 hits, Leads Copperheads to Win | The Atlanta Copperheads beat the Baltimore Clippers, 9-3, at Patapsco Field. Atlanta second baseman John Newton had an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Harry Inge picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 10-3. Atlanta improves to 68-38 with the win. They lead their division by 10 games.
