Foresters Keep Streak Alive With 5-2 Win
The first-place Cleveland Foresters took on the Dallas Wranglers in front of a spirited crowd.

The Foresters grabbed a win, 5-2, at Forester Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Steve Miller. Miller went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winning pitcher was four-time All-Star Jake Pearson. He tossed 93 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 10 hits. Johnny Ogden, who leads the CA in saves with 14, nailed down the save.

Sherry Doyal had a big 2-run triple for the Foresters in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Cleveland trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 32-year old left-handed pitcher Steve Miller and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Foresters ahead, 3-2.

Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead called it "a darn good win."

The Foresters, now 35-15, have won 10 in a row.
