Chiefs Improve to 55-54 with 4-1 Win
The Chicago Chiefs got a stellar effort from pitcher Johnny Maples, helping Chicago score a win over the visiting Detroit Dynamos, 4-1. Hal Alsip was credited with the save for Chicago, his 14th of the season. Today's win puts Chicago at 55-54, while Detroit falls to 56-49.

Freddie Mitchel dealt the Dynamos a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Chicago leading 2-1, Mitchel, who is tied for 8th in the FA in stolen bases with 20, hit a first pitch changeup for a 2-run single.

Chicago manager Ollie Howard called it "a darn good win."
