Wranglers Edge Past Imperials, 8-7
New York third baseman Joe Dorch had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 8-7, to Dallas at Norris Stadium. Dorch was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Hank Berkowitz, who led the CA in saves with 23 in 1954, was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-4. The losing pitcher was Glenn Webb. The last-place Imperials have lost 7 straight games.

Had Ray Hughes not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hughes hit a 2-run double. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Wranglers.

"Things will change for us," said New York manager Ed Ziehl. "When things change, we'll get clicking."
