| Cannons Net 4-3 Win | Wally Fields, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1974 draft, had a strong outing for the Cincinnati Cannons against the Cleveland Foresters at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. With this game in the books, Cincinnati is 52-52, Cleveland 47-59.
Tied up with the Foresters in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Cannons got a boost from right fielder Bud Cormier. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Cormier saw a 1-0 changeup from Dick Couture and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Cincinnati on top, 4-3.
Said losing manager Ray Parsons: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."
