| Kings Get Clonked by Cannons, 7-3 | The Cincinnati Cannons defeated the Kansas City Kings, 7-3, in Continental Association action at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Cincinnati pitcher Jack Meeks had a standout performance. Meeks, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 3 walks. Cincinnati has now won 3 in a row.
Cincinnati took a 6-3 lead on Tommy Allenby's 3rd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Allenby hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Frankie Sawyer visibly frustrated.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Meeks.
