| Markham Fashions Shutout Against New York | Chicago Chiefs hurler Otis Markham was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the New York Gothams, shutting them out, 11-0, on 3 hits.
"Otis was very aggressive tonight," Chicago manager Claude Heaton said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Markham tallied 2 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Bob Kuhl said. "Markham has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
This season, Markham has compiled a 4-4 mark with a 3.50 ERA in 11 starts. | |
