| Stars Take Down Sailors, 4-3 | Los Angeles beat San Francisco at Golden Gate Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Ed Moore. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Bill Dunham, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Getting the save was Ed Blanchard, his 1st.
Moore had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth, when he hit a solo home run. The Stars went on to win.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Moore.
With the win, Los Angeles has a record of 61-43. San Francisco falls to 48-59.
