| Copperheads Win at Home, 2-0 | In a low-scoring contest between the Atlanta Copperheads and the Boston Minutemen, Dutch Wright was the X factor. The Atlanta right-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Buddy Thomas notched his 21st save of the season. The Copperheads, at 77-27, have now won 13 straight.
Atlanta catcher Howard Smith contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 82nd hit of the season and put the Copperheads ahead, 1-0.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Wright after the game. | |
