Rocque Hits 2 home runs in Cannons Win
With first baseman Mike Rocque leading the charge, the Cincinnati Cannons defeated the Cleveland Foresters, 8-6, at Tice Memorial Stadium II. Rocque, who led the CA in triples with 12 in 1971, belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Bob Nelson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 7 save opportunities. Cleveland has now lost 5 straight.

Tony Nino drew 1 walk for Cincinnati. The 1969 Kellogg Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alex Rutherford. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Cannons manager Charlie Britton.
