Starting pitcher Hank Springer gave the Boston Minutemen a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Philadelphia Keystones, 2-0, at Liberty Coliseum. The loss drops Philadelphia to 1-3.
The Minutemen had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 2-0, Boston, with no one out. Philadelphia, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Andy Parker dug in at the plate, but on a 2-1 cutter, he lined out. | |
