| Copperheads Run Win Streak to 12 | The Boston Minutemen got a superb performance from third baseman Frank Borgen, but the Atlanta Copperheads still won the game, 5-4. Borgen went 3-3 with 3 singles. The winning pitcher was Harry Inge. He tossed 102 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits. Bill Hunn earned his 7th save in 9 chances.
Jay Hunter went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Atlanta. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring single off Bob Scott. It was his 71st hit of the season.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Hunter said.
