Foresters Lose, 8-7, at Dyckman Stadium
The New York Imperials and Cleveland Foresters obliged fans looking for a good time.

The New York Imperials locked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, knocking off the Cleveland Foresters, 8-7. On the mound for New York was right-hander Emmett Thornton. He played a major role in the triumph. The winner was Thornton. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Roy Rice.

New York shortstop Jay Grey contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 33rd hit of the season and put the Imperials ahead, 8-2.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said New York manager Jim Abernathy.
