| Clippers Squeeze By Washington, 2-1 | The Baltimore Clippers topped the Washington Eagles, 2-1, in Federal Association action at Patapsco Field. The standout performance belonged to Baltimore pitcher and Gary, Indiana, native Pat Fortier. The Clippers, at 55-47, sit in third place in the Federal Association East.
Baltimore got a clutch hit from Hal Blank. The pinch hitter socked a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was game-ender.
Washington manager Joe D'Aprile, after the game, said, "Right now, we're just not getting that big hit."
