Kings Upend Mavericks, 6-4
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Kansas City Mavericks take on the Seattle Kings.

The inspired effort of Kansas City right fielder Lou Rush was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Seattle Kings. Rush went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Danny Anderson, the winner, is now 5-4. He struck out 1 and walked 5 over 6 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

Bob Glowacki helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a 2-2 fastball from Chuck Crea for a run-scoring double, to give Seattle a 1-0 lead.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Glowacki.

The Kings, at 61-42, sit in first place in the Continental Association West.
